Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm #250 Stand Out - Review

Claims: A Matte finish that’s beyond plush. Balm that’s beyond comforting. Our Triple Butter Complex of Shea, Coconut and Mango butters nourishes lips. In 10 collectible, craveable colors. (*Not sure if all the shades are available in India*)

Price: INR 800 for 2.7 gms 

Revlon launched its ColorBurst Laquer Balm and Matte Balm range in India earlier this year, which like its predecessor JustBitten Kissable Balms Stains was well received too. The shade #250 Stand Out is a gorgeous cool toned deep berry red, which glides on like a dream and stays easily for more than 4 hours. Even though this is a matte balm, the formulation of this product is quite moisturizing and creamy. Oh and I love the shades in this range! I have been eyeing #240 Unapologetic for a while now. 

My Rating: 4.5/5 (If only these balms had SPF..)

Paisa Vasool (Is it worth the money?): Totally! The formulation of these balms is excellent. The shade #250 Stand Out is moisturizing, has a beautiful velvety-matte finish, does not bleed and even wears off evenly. That is everything that I would look for in a lip product. I mean, almost everything.... (Shade #240 Unapologetic, we shall meet soon!)

Just got a cool update on my very handy android device, but this wasn’t a firmware update, this was an app update for the “Baap of all App’s.” If you are familiar with the tag line, you must have understood that I am talking about the ASKME application. For many of you who have already downloaded ASKME and are using it, you would know this app’s benefits. But for the people who are yet to download it, I should tell you that you are missing out on a lot of convenience.

It also assists you in finding latest and used cars, bikes, electronics, classifieds of job openings, real estate listings with their addresses and phone numbers and the latest deals. ASKME has recently been freshened and improved by bug fixes, better design, and a few tweaks in the User Interface.  

I would rate ASKME APP a solid 4.5 out of 5.  It is rather helpful and easy to use, plus it’s easy on my data pack. Don’t think too much and download it. If you have an android device, I am sure you have scores of apps that you don’t even use. Why not download this one, which will take place of a lot of those apps. You never know, it just might get you out of a pickle.

Do you ever feel like time starts moving at a faster pace as you get older? As if 24 hours are not enough to do and think all that you want to. And let us not even talk about the things that you don’t want to, god knows even a week is not enough for such ordeals.  As for me, I start having mini panic attacks whenever I look at the date. What, it’s August 19th already?? How did that happen?? 2014, dude, slow down there!!

It’s okay if you don’t share my angst. That my friend, only means that you are doing life right.

So yeah, the outfit. I wanted to buy a little floral skirt for the longest time and found this pretty little thing at Forever 21. Keeping it simple, I paired the skirt with a basic white tank top and navy blue cardigan. And later that day, took off the cardigan and added the hairband to make my look a little more casual, a little more Coachella. And although we did not get a single good shot of my shoes, please take my word when I tell you that I wore nude pumps to finish off the look and was not strutting around barefoot. 

P.S. I did not like the movie August Rush, gave up on it after half an hour.

P.P.S. 5 keys (very important keys) on my keyboard are not working at the moment, and you won't believe how slow and painstaking it is to type with your on-screen keyboard.

Pamela Easton and Lydia Pearson debut with their label “Easton Pearson” at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014 with an Indo- Australian fashion fantasy. Working with Indian artisans for the past 20 years, the “Easton Pearson” label caused excitement on the fashion ramp with the “BeBop” collection. Inspired by the 1940’s BeBop Jazz era, it was a line replete with colour and exciting patterns. There are some dramatic long skirts and dresses, suitable for a real occasion, but in the show they were styled with flat sandals. The collection is a subverted quirky glamour, a mixture of disparate elements.

It was quirky glamour at its best for women who want colour, tradition and craft on their garments. The great “BeBop” collection from Pamela Easton and Lydia Pearson for their label “Easton Pearson” will add pizzazz to every lady’s style quotient.

Midi skirt trend, please don’t ever go away. 

I am in awe of the myriad ways this trend is being styled by fashion bloggers and celebrities. But when it comes to buying THE perfect midi skirt, the options available at retail stores are still limited. Above are some of the choices that have caught my fancy while I have been browsing for midi skirts online.

To tell you the truth I am still a novice at online shopping, but I do keep an eye online for exclusive items, discounts and coupon sites. I was recently introduced to the site Cuponation which provides many deals and discounts on an array of e-retail websites. And as I believe in staying fashionable at a reasonable price, I am all up for saving opportunities while shopping online. 

Please excuse me while I get back to my online shopping endeavors, and contemplate obsessively whether placing an order for the Ikebana Floral Skirt from Modcloth (the first one in the first collage) should put and end to my self-inflicted shopping ban or not. Untill next time..

THE SOFITEL MACAU AT PONTE 16 [REVIEW]

The Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16 is located at the Macau city centre, and is around a drive of 20 minutes from the Macau Airport and the Macau Ferry Terminal. A shuttle bus runs from the Ferry terminal to the hotel but I decided to take a taxi to save time. As soon as I got off my taxi, I was greeted with a warm ‘Bonjour’ by the hotel staff and escorted to the executive floor for check-in. I enjoyed the afternoon tea with the spectacular view of the old Macau and glitzy casinos from the executive lounge, till the formalities of check-in were being processed.
Did I mention that I got a complimentary upgrade to the Junior Suite? The suite was spacious with excellent décor, splendid river view, free Wi-Fi, espresso maker, beautiful paintings, and a separate guest bathroom. The bathroom was quite big and luxurious and was stocked with Hermès amenities.
Being only a walking distance away from many tourist sites, Sofitel Macau’s location is superb. The lady who assisted me on the club floor, Ada, was exceptionally helpful and took a keen interest in providing me and my friends with details of the places we wanted to visit. The Senado square, A-ma temple, Ruins of St. Paul and many shopping places are only a walking distance away. The casino at Ponte 16 has a separate entry while the other big casinos of the city are also not far from the hotel. Also, don’t forget to visit the MJ gallery.
The evening cocktail at the club lounge had a great selection on beverages and appetizers.  Oh and the breakfast buffet at The Mistral was delightful, with a satisfying variety of local and international cuisines.
The most remarkable feature of Sofitel Macau that won my heart is the extremely friendly and warm staff. Right from the receptionist to the person taking care of my luggage, each and every employee genuinely did every little thing they could to make my stay enjoyable. The staff always made a friendly conversation without being invasive. 
The Sofitel Ponte 16 is a perfect choice if you want to explore the old Macau. Attentive and warm staff put in their sincere efforts to personalize their service according to your needs. I will certainly recommend my pleasant experience at Sofitel Ponte 16 to anyone who is looking for a great place to stay in Macau.

HOW TO REMOVE THE BLOGGER NAVIGATION BAR

It’s orange, it’s convenient and it’s right there on the top. But when I realised that I have not used the blogger navigation bar in ages (okay maybe never) I decided it was time that it had to go. And as we bloggers believe in doing everything ourselves, I thought I would share with you how easy it to remove the navigation bar if you would like to do the same.

STEP 1

Go to the Layout section from your Blogger Dashboard.On the top right of your layout you will find the Navbar widget.

STEP 2

On clicking the Edit option on the Navbar widget, a pop-up will appear with Navigation Bar color schemes. Choose ‘Off’ and save the settings. And you are done!

If you are someone like and had been putting off removing the Navigation Bar because you thought it would be tricky, well that was a piece of pie eh?

Is it a weapon? Is it some kind of revolutionary writing equipment? Is it the cover of the 5th edition of the Twilight series (sorry the red and black picture reminded me of the Twilight covers for some reason, the pale hands didn't help either)?
